Presentation Requirements:
  • Slide 1: Career Title with picture of someone doing this job
  • Slide 2: Describe what this person does (include at least 2 pictures)
  • Slide 3: Provide education requirements (are there certain schools that specialize in this field….example: Texas A&M - Vet School) Include pictures of the school
  • Slide 4: Provide salary range information either in a graph or data table
  • Slide 5: A collage of pictures of people doing this job (at least 6 pictures)

Research the different type of Engineering careers. Find one career that requires a high school diploma, one that requires some college (such as an associates degree), one that has requires a Bachelor’s degree, certification requirements, salary, etc. Fill out the Careers Research Template (online).

After the students finished their Arts & Humanities PGP I had them do the following on a google class assignment

Create a document for your answers.
1. Describe what S.T.E.M. means.
2. Research jobs in the S.T.E.M. field. Find a profession for each of the letters. S - Science T - Technology E - Engineering M - Mathematics.
3. Describe each of these jobs.

  • Research Careers in the Fine Arts using MyDestiny and Achieve Texas website.
  • Be assigned one pathway from the following in the fine arts endorsement:
    art, band, choir/piano, dance, theater
    • within that pathway do research to find different careers
    • pick one of the careers within the pathway and research the education requirements, certifications, experience and salary for this career.

  • After the research is done, students will find the other student in class that is researching the same pathway. Together students will create a poster with the information from their research.
  • Poster requirements
    • Title of Pathway
    • Name of career(s) being displayed in poster
    • An illustration of the career(s)
    • Salary of these careers
    • Education, certification requirements

  • Students will pick their favorite career in Social Studies or Journalism to create a project. The project can be a newspaper article (with picture/photograph), filmed newscast, recorded news report (radio version of the news), or a speech. All of these will be presented to the class.

  • If you do not know your parent’s occupation, then continue researching more ranked occupation on the Career Discovery matches page.
